DANCE PROGRAMS @ PLIÉ
RECREATIONAL DANCE CLASSES
Plié has a friendly and fun atmosphere, with classes to offer for both serious dancers, or for those who want to participate for fitness and enjoyment. There is something for everyone! Plié is most famous for our community feeling- students and parents enjoy friendships and forming a strong support network- such important elements to encourage sportsmanship amongst our dancers, and create a sense of belonging. Students should not only reach their personal best in dance & cheer, but also benefit from increased confidence and social skills.
PliÉ offers recreational dance classes in….
Jazz
Tap
Ballet (Cecchetti & RAD)
Hip Hop
Musical Theatre
Lyrical/Contemporary
Breakdance
LATIN FUSION
BOYS HIP HOP
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Plie caters for both boys & girls, from tiny tots right through to adults, with the bulk of our clients being pre school, primary & high school aged kids.
Plie students have two opportunities annually to perform for their family & friends. In June & December each year,
Plié produces full scale concerts for every student enrolled to participate in (although completely optional).
Our concerts are held at C3 Auditorium Oxford Falls.

COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAMS
Plié have been training dancers from tinies to careers in the professional world of performing arts since 1997.
Plié have been competing in eisteddfods & competitions for the past twenty-six years at an extremely high level. Keen & dedicated students have the opportunity to be invited to join one of our many ‘stage class’ teams. We have teams competing in jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre & song & dance. Our age groups are 6/u, 8/u, 10/u, 12/u, 14/u, 16/u & Open Age.
We prefer the invitation method as opposed to the audition method, which can be disheartening & stressful for some students. We feel that a better reflection of a child's ability is via assessment from their class teacher who sees them every week in class, and knows their strengths & talents, rather than a one-off audition where nerves can sometimes take over!
Although we encourage our teams to work hard & be committed, we do this while still having FUN! We are proud of the kids no matter what- they always do their personal best and get up on stage and have a great time- that is what performing is all about! Our teams have won countless places at eisteddfods over the past twenty years- happy & positive kids equal great results!!
Our stage class dancers have multiple performance & competitive opportunities each year including….
- a special pre-eisteddfod concert at DY RSL each May
- two annual concerts at C3 Auditorium
- Extreme Dance Competition
- The Ultimate Dance Challenege
- Sydney Eisteddfod
- State & National Titles in all-star dance
Our eisteddfod season usually runs from June to August each year
The world of competitive dance can be difficult for young dancers to navigate and a huge amount of focus can be placed on winning competitions as the benchmark to a studios or dancer's success. At Plié we don't believe this is how a studio or a dancer should be viewed. We like to include as many keen dancers as possible to participate in and enjoy the experiences of being part of Team Plié. We want our kids to show good sportsmanship, encourage fellow competitors and be kind and courteous to others backstage and ask all parents & caregivers to encourage & support this ethos for their own child & the entire Plié community.
