Lyrical and contemporary dance classes
Our lyrical and contemporary classes combine ballet and modern dance into a style that's fluid, dynamic and expressive. They're great for building strength and coordination in boys and girls, and a creative outlet for children and teenagers.
Lyrical
Lyrical is a blend of ballet and modern dance. It builds a strong centre, pairing precise leg work with ease and fluidity through the body, often danced to ballads, with an emphasis on technique and expression.
Contemporary
Contemporary draws on modern and post-modern dance. Classes can include movements from martial arts and yoga, mime, ballet and plenty of improvisation, set to chart ballads and more abstract music.

Does my child need ballet to do lyrical?
Lyrical draws heavily on ballet technique, so ballet classes help a lot. Our office can suggest the right mix of classes for your child.
Can we try a class before enrolling?
Yes, and your first trial class is free. Please fill in a short form at the front office before the class. Parents are invited to watch the first lesson.
